‘This is actually genius’

-MIXMAG

A festival favourite

At 9ft in length, this larger-than-life interactive sculpture was created to celebrate the origins of electronic music – inspired by the classic Roland TR-909 drum machine which sparked a revolution in the music industry in the 80s.

THE ORIGINS OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC

After technically failing commercially, the TR-909 was picked up by young music
producers from Detroit and Chicago. From the Mid 80’s onwards its iconic sound started to appear on records which became the classics of a brand-new music scene. These groundbreaking productions encoded the TR-909’s distinct sound into early house and techno, acting as a signpost to future generations of producers who would eagerly seek out the machine that gave dance music its kick.
